Alt Text provides a richer Internet experience by adding audio to the text of an image and is designed for the sight impaired. This text is hidden from the screen but can be heard if you turn on your device’s VoiceOver function in your accessibility settings. It provides a 100 character description of the image..
You can add alt text to all of your images that you post on Facebook and Instagram in basically the same way.
1. Enlarge the image on your device.
2. Go to the upper right corner and click on the … .
3. Scroll down to Edit Alt Text and input a visual description of your image.
Not only does this help the sight impaired, but it helps your images be brought up in a search too.
Be one step ahead of the competition by making sure all your images have their alt text filled out.
